What is a Postpartum Doula?

Whether you’re a first-time parent or an experienced parent bringing a new baby home, it requires adjustments to your routine with dividing time so mom and partner can each get some rest and figure out how to manage it all. I’m here to nurture and support mother and family in this time of change and to answer any questions you may have.

As a Postpartum Doula...

I can assist in helping to develop parenting styles and routines based on your family needs. I can be extremely helpful in providing efforts to alleviate stress, postpartum stress, baby blues or feeling overwhelmed. In giving emotional and physical support during your recovery from labor, I will provide you with the opportunity to rest, recover, bond and adjust as a family unit.

I’ll stay in while you and your partner get some rest or spend time alone reconnecting. I provide sibling care, meal preparation and perform light housekeeping. I can run errands and accompany you and your baby to doctor’s appointments, pick up prescriptions and help you prepare your home for baby’s arrival.

I will provide non-medical-practice-based physical and emotional support. I teach coping skills for new parents, provide education on newborn care and supply referrals and resources as needed. I can provide breastfeeding support and answer any questions or concerns you may have, as I am a certified lactation consultant. I am extremely accessible with unlimited phone and email support. You will find that I am nurturing, gentle, highly attentive, and have an excellent listening ear. My services are based on a holistic and organic approach.
