A birth doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is experiencing labor or has recently given birth. The doula usually begins her relationship with the mother a few weeks to months in advance of the birth. The doula works with the mother and her partner to formulate a birth plan. This is a great way to prepare for labor and birth. Class consists of a dissemination of information through discussions and exercises. Leaving this class you will be well informed on the childbirth process. The information will stimulate your thoughts while encourage you to think through the choices you may have for your birth.
